The challenge

A table cannot express adjacency, and adjacency was the whole problem.

Operators were mentally re-projecting rows of telemetry onto a map they knew from memory, which worked exactly until the day it mattered most.

The approach

We treated the map as the primary control surface rather than a visualisation of one.

Telemetry streams into spatial aggregates rather than individual markers, so density stays legible as the estate grows; dispatch actions are issued from the same surface that shows their consequence.

Outcomes

What changed.

  • 9,400 assets rendered without virtualisation fallback
  • <400ms telemetry-to-map propagation target
  • 3 operational surfaces collapsed into one

These figures are invented fixture data. They exist to exercise the metric component and measure nothing — no engagement produced them.

Operators reason about the estate the way it actually behaves — as a network with neighbours, not a list with rows.
